Assignment: Prototype
The first individual assignment I had to do at AMFI was Prototype. The goal is to create a garment from a square fabric piece and I had to experiment with different shapes. In the end we had to draw this garment technically by hand and eventually create it.
Getting inspired
In the beginning of every creative project inspiration is needed. That is why I did research on pleats and crinkles in different styles from various brands.
Experimenting with fabrics
After my research I analyzed them and created different styles in small test fabrics. I also practiced my drawing skills by drawing the small fabrics.
Making it technical
After designing it is very important that the design can be communicated to the production factory. That is why I made a technical drawing with seam symbols so that the factory immediately understands my vision.
Organizing and photograph the end result
At the end of the project I wanted to organize a photoshoot to make my design prototype come to life! As I have a passion for photography I took these pictures, arranged the model and location.
